The company commits to the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and in the 2018/2019 period worked to ensure at least 70 per cent completion on its sustainability project; and to assess water wastage and how to tackle the same and to ensure adoption of environmentally friendly technologies by at least 30 per cent.
During the above period, the sustainability project lagged in terms of resources mobilization though the project is 50 per cent complete and expected to be complete by 2020. However, on water wastage 90 per cent of the employees were trained, in five sessions, on how to minimize water waste and wherever possible to reuse water. More training is expected in the succeeding period where more green cleaning technology consultants will teach on minimizing water wastage and even using portable recycling water systems.
Energy-efficient machinery will be also be acquired in the near future in addition to adopting the Reduce, Re-use and Recycle principles. The company has committed to reducing the cost of cleaning materials by 50 per cent and reduction of single-use plastics by 80 per cent and attaining a 90 per cent material wastage goal by 2020. Moreover, it is committed to adapting the use of residential and commercial green detergents by huge margins as market research and production of the same shall allow.
